Stable, durable & lighter than older Barricades. This unique colorway is inspired by the beautiful cities of Miapulco (Miami & Acapulco).

The adidas Barricade is back! Coming from a long history of being the most stable and durable shoe on the market, this 12th version is designed to carry on the legacy of the most successful adidas tennis franchise. A key feature carried on from previous Barricades is the Torsion System, which creates a very stable ride and will hold up to the most aggressive changes of direction. This update features an asymmetric hidden lacing system, which provides secure lockdown and keeps the laces protected on the medial side for hard court sliders. The comfort has been enhanced with foam pods in the heel region for step-in comfort, as well as the BOUNCE 2.0 full midsole for those players putting in the long hours on court. This shoe features Primegreen, a series of high-performance recycled materials, where 50% of the upper material is recycled content.
  • Upper: One-piece textile upper material, with an asymmetric lacing system, neoprene tongue, and hidden laces on the medial side. Medial side features tough RPU to protect from foot drag, and toe-cap equipped with Adituff for added durability. Primegreen - 50% of the upper is recycled content.
  • Midsole: Full length BOUNCE 2.0 midsole, with Torsion System TPU midfoot shank to maximize lateral stability.
  • Outsole: New ADIWEAR rubber compound for high wear durability. Herringbone Reload tread design for enhanced abrasion resistance in high wear areas, and lateral edge caters to hard court sliding.
  • Color: Core Black / Core White / Blue Dawn (colors inspired by the beautiful cities of Miapulco Miami + Acapulco)

Digs into you anklesThis shoe is not worth your money. I got off the court the other day and was bleeding along my ankle due to the tongue of the shoe rubbing into my leg. The same happens with the heel of the shoe.

No longer Barricades of the pastI recently purchased the '23 Barricades after using the Nike 9.5 Vapor Pros for 10 years, and I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the improvements Adidas has made. Barricades have always been a durable hard court shoe for serious players, but at the expense of being a bit heavy and not very breathable. This is no longer the case; I found these extremely comfortable right out of the box (just like the old Nike Vapors) and a lot more breathable. Great traction, support, and stability. The new 2023 version seems to be the near perfect Barricade.

would recommend this shoeI have 3 of these shoes and I am going to purchase another one soon. I have very wide shoes so I have to stick to these or my feet are hurt.

Eyelet broke after 3 weeksMy son liked the shoes but the top inside eyelet broke after just a few weeks of moderate use.

Terrible Eyelet durability. Not comfortable.Purchased on 1/10/23, eyelet failed on 5/21/23. Typically play 1x/week for about 2-3hours. Really expected more life. Also, not very comfortable, even after break in period. Tough to get laces tight and I didn’t find a way to lace lock either. Would not recommend.

Best Barricades everThese shoes are awesome. They provide excellent support and stability. They are lighter, more comfortable and less cumbersome than previous models of the Barricade. The midsole material provides nice cushion toward the heel but the front of the shoe feels more connected to the court which is a great improvement. I had no trouble with the break in period. I walked around town with them for a few hours before playing my first time on court and they were just fine. I had been using the Sole Court Boost from 2019 and these are more stable, yet lighter and let me feel more connected to the court. As far as fit they run similar to past Barricade models, which always required me to order a half size larger. They run smaller than the Sole Court Boost, and a bit more narrow. I ordered a half size larger than the 2019 Boost and they fit perfectly. I have read a couple of reviews where people had trouble with the elastic lace holes. That would obviously be an issue but I have not experienced that yet. These are the best Barricades ever and the best tennis shoes I have ever used.

Awesome shoe, horrible eyelet durability...I love these shoes, from the fit to the performance!!! But and it's a large but, the inner lace loops are not durable at all. After 3 months of use maybe playing 1-2 times a week the lace loop popped off, basically the top inner loop is poorly attached to the upper and once detached makes the shoe unusable. The soles are in great shape and have many many more hours maybe even months remaining but because of this design flaw they are not unusable. I may try and punch a hole in the upper where the lace loop was attached but no consumer should need to to this. I am going to change to a different model. I would stay away from this shoe and would not recommend it.

Decent shoesI have gone through Yonex shoes, Nike shoes, and Lacoste shoes and have torn them all up within the couple of weeks, but the Barricades that I have now for three weeks haven’t disappoint. They are a little uncomfortable, but very durable and are starting to get worn in which is making the comfort ability go up but still stress my feet every now and then. So if you want to risk comfortability for durability I highly recommend this shoe.

My favorite shoeI've been wearing Barricades since 2014 (except when they stopped making them). Love this new version of it. My only complaint is the fabric strap that holds the upper laces breaks within the first month. This has happened to me on 3 pairs. I fixed this by poking a hole into the shoe so the lace can go through. Other than that, these are the most durable and stable shoe out there.

Feels like cheap plasticCheap feeling plastic uppers - destroyed my toes jamming in the front of the shoe, exceptionally hot in the Florida heat, no ventilation, break-in required, fits true to size. This is a hard court shoe with a clay sole; totally not fit for purpose, when will a brand make a true clay court shoe instead of slapping on a herringbone sole???

Good shoeMy son is a high school tennis player and has been using these for a few weeks. Something in the form he uses when he serves, tears up the toe of the right shoe in every pair of shoes he's ever used and these are no exception, but he likes them well enough to want a second pair, which I am ordering now. I wish there existed a shoe that could withstand the way that he uses them. But at least these seem to work for him in every other way. The white/taupe/orange ones are lovely.

What stops this from being 5 starsThe build of this shoe is fantastic however I have two gripes about the shoes: 1) They are very firm, much more so than other more comfortable brands like Asics and Nike. 2) The heel part is very high, so if you wear low socks it can cause blistering in the Achilles tendon. So low socks is a no-go. The shoes look great though and I like them.

Great Shoes!I always buy good shoes but I wanted an even better shoe to help alleviate and protect my feet from future planter fasciitis issues. These shoes have great support for the heel along with wonderful cushioning. The pluses are that this is a great looking shoe with superb traction.

They lockdown better than previous BarricadesWhen I first saw the lacing system, I was skeptical. However, these shoes lockdown better on my feet than any other shoes. In the past I had problems with heel slippage, with these I don't. There is adequate cushioning, and it is a stable shoe. They do need a break-in period.

Previous Feedback

Comments: I ended up returning the pair of adidas Barricades I had. After playing in them twice, I decided there were too many things that could go wrong. I have a pretty narrow foot and the tongue would slip and get in bunches. The laces are pretty thin for those trying to really lock them down. I believe adidas made a big mistake using elastic straps for their lacing eyelets - you just cannot get these shoes to wrap around your foot as they should. The Bounce in the back of the foot was super cushioned, but moving around, the heel is extremely bulky. Forefoot is low to the ground for good court feel, but didn't really feel any cushion. Disappointed.

Comments: Barricade is back! And in a big way. This is the most plush Barricade I can remember right from the first moment you put it on. You get a locked in feel, but the shoe is still light and speedy. Stability is great too, and the boost material in the heel makes the shoe well-cushioned. Maybe not as low as the Nike Vapor Pro, but better cushioning and support without being much higher at all. I have been wearing Nike for three years since the Barricade line disappeared and I am now switching back. This shoe is right up there with the Asics Gel Resolution 8's. I actually like this Barricade better. Well done, Adidas. Side note: I have slightly wider feet, and the fit is great!
