Quick, light, and supportive!

The future of speed is here! adidas listened to your feedback and has taken the best traits from the 2 and 3 to create the ultimate lightweight performance shoe, the adizero Ubersonic 4! Built off the same last as the Ubersonic 2, you will find a glove-like fit and contoured feel. New to this update, the Lightstrike midsole provides loads of rebound and is softer and more responsive than previous versions. The light weight Primeknit upper is sure to keep you completely comfortable and supported, paired with a second layer of woven Primegreen materials for even more stability on those quick court cuts. With added durability in areas of high wear, the outsole will offer superb traction for multidirectional movements on all court surfaces.
  • Upper: Seamless Primeknit sock-like constructed upper maximizes flexibility and comfort while aiding in support with a second layer of woven Primegreen material for even more stability when changing directions. Adituff materials in high wear areas for durability.
  • Midsole: Lightstrike cushioning provides step-in underfoot comfort and a responsive feel to keep you reacting quickly. We think this is what makes this update better than previous models.
  • Outsole: Adiwear rubber compound for good traction for multidirectional movement on any court surface. The herringbone tread pattern is denser in high wear areas and wider on the lateral edge for easy sliding.
  • Color: White / Silver / Lilac

Each color has different uppers be awareThese are some of the best match day shoes with the best combo of traction, light weight, cushioning and stability. Just be aware the different colors are sometimes made of different materials and thus cause the shoe to fit slightly differently. The red ones are my favorites I have also owned the navy blue ones and the white/clay model. The different uppers cause the shoe to flex differently in different spots. Just my .02

I can hear myself moving!Years ago while participating in a Category 2 tournament, I "listened" to hundreds of players of age groups ranging from 35s to 85s. Nearly all of the top 4 seeds in every age group had more active feet than their cohorts. Since then I rely on hearing the movement of my feet to ensure that I am not succumbing to lazy footwork. The adidas Adizero Ubersonic are light and responsive allowing me to regain active feet.

Love this shoeMy son is a competitive player and he loves this shoe. It is light and adidas is a wider shoe that fits his foot better. They do wear out pretty quickly, but he plays daily.

Good purchaseMy previous model was the Barricade which I liked very much but the Adizero is proving to be as comfy, sturdy time will tell. Overall very pleased with my purchase so far . Unlike some other brands adidas seems to maintain the quality level through time.

I am a woman but purchased this shoe! After scouring the internet for my old favorite Adidas women's tennis shoe I found this, converted from a men&'s size to a women's size. I prefer a wider toe box but like the sock-like fit around the ankle. Comfortable right out of the box. Works well on clay courts. Love the color. Also got a great deal during the Memorial Day Sale.

ComfortableI love these shoes. They are comfortable the first time you put them on. I buy my regular size and wear a thick sock.

Long break in, but worth itI play/coach 12+ hours per week. It took me until middle of second week to brake them in but I'm once broken in, they have been the best tennis shoes I've owned. adidas feel wider to me than both Nike and New Balance. I don't think I have a wide foot, but they are noticeably wider and Im not in a rush to get them off after matches as with other brands. They are not grinding down where I shuffle drag my feet. This is a club/pro shoe, not as much a recreational one, in my opinion.

4.1 update big improvementThis version was 20g lighter than the 2022 4.0 clay version - more padding on the tongue - unfortunately it stops before the lace tie-down area - the laces are thicker and the eyelets help improve the lockdown. The forefoot area seems to have slightly more padding?? Wear is not an issue for clay courts - but I suspect these won't last too long on a hard court.

Weak toe soleI never write reviews, but felt I had to here. I’m a senior pro/tournament player (42 yrs old) and have played with almost every major/popular shoe from the bigger brands on the market. These sneakers were so comfortable and light, and I wanted to like them so much, but the toe wore out about 3x faster than any other shoe above $100. I couldn’t believe how quickly it happened. That’s all.

adizeroI am a competitive senior tennis player on the national level and I wear nothing but adidas adizero shoes. They are extremely light with no break in period. Perhaps not the most durable but certainly the most comfortable!

No Break In TimeMy high schooler has a wide foot and thus prefers adidas for its wider toe box. This is his second pair of these. He prefers them to the Barricades because they need to be broken in and are a bit too rigid for him.

Great shoeHonestly, I don't know what some of the negative reviews are about. This is my second pair of Uber 4. The previous one lasted me 2 years playing once a week for about 2 hours and about 3 times a week to the gym. Running on the treadmill is obviously not as stressful on the shoe as running around on the court, but it adds up. A typical tennis shoe lasts 40-60 hours on the court, so that's 1 year playing once a week or 3-4 months playing 3 times a week. This shoe seems right up there. I also have no issues with the toe box as some of the reviewers. FWIW, I'm a size 11 and this shoe fits like a glove with enough room for my toes. I actually wore through the upper back of the shoe from getting in and out. It can be a bit tight to get in even with a shoehorn. That's probably my only complaint.

Great shoe, but sole durability is lackingI absolutely LOVE these shoes and they are by far my favorite tennis shoes I've purchased. Very comfortable, light and great fitting. However the durability is severely lacking. I went through close to three pairs last year playing 2-3 times a week and while I really like them, could not justify spending $140 on a pair of shoes that would last 2-3 months for me. I'd wear the sole to the point the rubber sole would have holes in it and the foam would be poking out. If adidas could figure out the durability issues with the sole, I'll definitely buy another pair but for now I'm going to stick with Asics Gel Resolution 8's.

Pinching IssuesAgreed, they need to do some quality control and get us back to the Uber 3 which was an amazing shoe.

Great feeling and response, poor sole qualitySo far, the best tennis shoes I’ve tried. The only bad thing is the sole durability. 2 months and you’ll need a new pair.

Durability poorShoes fit great for my foot shape, and worked great while they lasted. Unfortunately I only got about 2 months of wear from them while rotating three pairs of shoes total. I would guess I probably only used them 2-3 times a week over 2 months and the outsole are worn through to the foam and flat in most places.

Toe box too lowThese used to be my favorites, but this generation or maybe just this batch (green) have a toe box that is too low and pushes down on your toenails. Its ironic because I'm a lean guy with narrow feet. They run true to size and fit in every other way. Reminds me of Lottos, they often have the same issue.

Another ubersonic missThe original Ubersonics were my favorite tennis shoe of all time. I simply haven't liked the newer models since and I wish they would do a throwback and bring them back to market. This 4 feels a lot narrower to me, and the fruit crease on the top of the shoe really digs in and caused pain.

Size DifferenceI really liked the shoe. How it felt when hearing and running on court. However, I had size problems with it. I used to wear Nike all the time and got the same size for this one and it was too small. Also, the durability is quite a problem. I ripped out parts of the sole after 2-3 competitive match days. Still, I loved how they felt on foot but these were my problems with it.

Previous Feedback

Comments: Best shoe on the market, however I would like to see Adidas release an all black model for everyday wear on and off the court.
